Mr Surendranath Majumdar is a music pedagogue, author, visionary thinker, philanthropist, motivational speaker and patriotic Indian. Mr Majumdar has had a brilliant career in the field of music education. He is transforming western music education in India by taking structured music education and qualifications to all parts of India and showcasing Indians on the world stage. His transformational and pioneering initiatives are widespread across India, including remote locations that positively impact the lives of music educators and learners.

Mr Majumdar has been one of the most inspiring teachers of piano, electronic keyboard, music theory and music teacher training for over two decades. He worked as a faculty for music in all the leading music schools of Kolkata from 2000 to 2013. Mr Majumdar was the recipient of the BEST TEACHER AWARD awarded by TCL.

Mr Majumdar learnt piano and Indian classical music from the most inspiring teachers in India and abroad. He received a scholarship to study piano and music pedagogy from the University of Music, Würzburg, Germany, in 2010. He was the first Indian piano teacher to participate with his student in the Franz Liszt Piano Competition in Weimer, Germany, in 2014. Mr Majumdar is the first Indian to complete a teacher training and music pedagogy course at the Kodály Institute of the Liszt Ferenc University of Music, Kecskemét, Hungary, in 2016. Mr Majumdar is also the First Indian to attend the International Kodály Symposium in Malaysia in 2019. Mr Majumdar represented India at Tagore Festival in Moscow, Russia, in 2011 with a team from Kolkata. He performed on piano in the prestigious farewell concert of the Ex-Governor of West Bengal, Shri Gopal Krishna Gandhi, at the Sandre Hall.

Under the visionary leadership and dynamic guidance of Mr Surendranath Majumdar, several prestigious institutions are blossoming. He is presently the Director of the Musicea Arts and Culture Council, offering the National Framework of Music Education in India. He is also the founder of Kodály inspired Music Education India, Yuva Music Festival, and the Academy for Musical Excellence. All these institutions are progressing by implementing the latest methodologies and ideas imperative for 21stcentury education. Musicea Yuva Festival is a free and fair international platform for learners of all backgrounds and abilities and is the most diverse music and dance celebration globally.

During his piano study and later during his working years, he realized several shortcomings in the music education system in India and the lack of global platforms and networks to support aspiring students and professionals. His initiatives began with training young learners (AMEC). By offering a Free & Fair platform to children and youth of all abilities and backgrounds (Yuva Music Festival). By introducing international curriculum, networks, opportunities and qualifications (Musicea Arts and Culture Council). Conducting awareness workshops, designing courses and training for music educators in India (Kodály inspired Music Education India). Mr Majumdar is the pioneering founder for Kodály inspired music education and teacher training in India.

To make India Atmanirbhar in western music education and a hub for the same, Mr Majumdar wrote a series of well-researched sequentially graded books for piano, electronic keyboard, guitar, drum kit, and music theory that encourage and inspire Indian learners and teachers. Mr Majumdar is the first Indian author to publish over twenty-five books Made and Published in India, a matter of immense national interest and prestige. The books are highly appreciated and recommended by many musicians, eminent citizens, diplomats, national and international Government officials, teachers and learners.

Mr Majumdar's mantra of redefining education, honouring achievements and transforming lives with music is bearing fruit as India is rising globally.
