The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) is an international music examinations board based in London, UK. The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music has been operating since 1889. ABRSM maintains the highest standard compared with the other music examination boards. Examinations for Piano, Guitar, Violin, Singing, and more subjects are offered from Grades 1–8 and have three standards: a pass, merit and distinction.
Till grade five, candidates may enter for any grade exam. A pass in grade five music theory and Grade 5 practical musicianship is mandatory before appearing for grade six to eight Practical exams. Full marks for ABRSM practical examination is 150. 100, 120, 130 are the respective marks required for a pass, merit and distinction.
