Ms Ruchika Majumdar is the first Indian professional expert in singing games. Her repertoire includes songs in different Indian and foreign languages. Currently, she teaches western vocal and Bollywood vocals. She is currently working on the national and international platforms as a music teacher trainer. She has trained professional educators from different Indian cities like Mumbai, New Delhi, Pune, Bangalore, Shillong, Chennai, and Kolkata. Via online teaching modules, Ms Majumdar trains teachers in the US, UAE, England and a few Asian countries. Love for children brought Ms Ruchika Majumdar into the world of music education. Ms Ruchika Majumdar is also a specialist for Kodàly inspired music education for children between three and eight years.
Ms Ruchika Majumdar is a young, dynamic, passionate and progressive music educator. Initially, she took formal training in Indian classical vocal, Rabindra Sangeet and Dance. Later on, Ms Majumdar took training in western singing and continued her dance lessons. She’s the first student of Maestro Surendranath Majumdar to undertake training in Kodàly inspired music education. She has completed her Diploma in Music Teacher Training awarded by Musicea Arts and Culture Council. Ms Majumdar had trained under the guidance of Ms Susanna Saw, the Vice President of the International Kodàly Society and Director of Young Choral Academy, Malaysia. For Bollywood vocal, Ms Majumdar took training from Shri Bishakh Jyoti Majumder, winner of the National Award in 2020. Ms Majumdar was also lucky to receive training from Ms Lucinda Geoghegan, NYCOS, Scotland, one of the most inspiring global music educators ever. Ms Majumdar is continuously upgrading and expanding her fields of study.
Ms Ruchika Majumdar presented an insightful session for global music educators showcasing ways to introduce Indian music following the principles of Maestro ZoltànKodàly. Young Choral Academy, Malaysian Academy for Music Education and the International Kodály Society jointly presented the session. For the first time, an Indian music educator presented under the banner of IKS. Dr Jerry Jaccard, the current president of IKS, was among the other presenters of the Kodàly workshop.
Together with Maestro Surendranath Majumdar, Ms Ruchika Majumdar is working with the vision of preparing 21st-century ready music students and educators in India. They are building solid foundations with Kodály inspired music education in India. Her love for music, children and youth, and her passion to contribute to society make her a remarkable leader and educator. Academy for Musical Excellence is blossoming as a premier institute for music and dance under the able supervision and contribution of Ms Ruchika Majumdar.
